95 g • Shampoo bars have been around for ages. That said, they’ve become more popular recently. This is in part due to their reduced environmental footprint. It also relates to how convenient they are—for space saving, longevity, and when travelling.
Shampoo bars offer the cleaning power of liquid-based shampoo, in a smaller form. Each bar is a complete hair care product, containing essential oils, fresh ingredients, and revitalizing scents.
Those with ultra-sensitive skin and scalps will find a friend in our Jojoba Olive Shampoo Bar. Jojoba oil soothes and moisturizes even the most sensitive scalps. Plus, it’s unscented, biodegradable, and made of 100% natural ingredients.
Every Saltspring Soapworks shampoo bar contains its own blend of oils and butters. This shampoo bar is best suited for people with sensitive scalps. It also works on treated and colored hair.

Our Jojoba Olive Shampoo Bar recipe is comprised of a couple of key ingredients. They include:
Olive Oil: We use olive oil in this shampoo bar. We rely on it for its deeply hydrating properties—which help sooth the scalp.
Jojoba Oil: This ingredient is rich in vitamins and minerals that nourish hair—specifically: vitamin C, B vitamins, vitamin E, copper, and zinc. Since it strengthens hair some believe that it can also prevent hair loss and promote hair thickness. Additionally, it cleanses your scalp, adds shine to hair, and conditions hair.
Rinse your hair well. Then rub your shampoo bar against your wet hair (while massaging your scalp), to create a rich, consistent lather.
Work your way from your scalp down the length of your hair. As you do so, the shampoo will spread easily. If you have split ends, scrub a little extra, to make these hair problems less pronounced. When properly covered, rinse the suds from your hair.
Once you’re finished, rinse the bar off and place it on a soap dish. (Using one that drains will prolong the life of your shampoo bar.)
As natural soaps age, their scent and colour can diminish. Also, you can prolong the life of your shampoo bar, by keeping it on a well drained soap dish.
